As the year comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to pause, reflect, and prepare for the new year with intention. For many of us, the end of the year can feel busy and overwhelming, but carving out time for self-care and reflection can help us enter the new year grounded and focused.
Here are a couple of ways I wrap up the year preparing for a fresh start…
1. Reflect on Your Year
You need to see the highs and the lows, they both require acknowledging. Take a moment to acknowledge all you’ve achieved this year— Whether it’s a consistent practice, showing up for loved ones, or simply making it through tough moments, give yourself credit. Journaling or meditating on your personal and wellness wins can help you close the year with gratitude and clarity.
Prompt: What are you most proud of from 2024? What lessons can you carry forward into 2025?
2. Set Intentions for 2025 - Sis got goals
Let’s remix the traditional resolutions and try setting intentions. Use intentions that feel aligned with your values and lifestyle. Focus on how you want to feel and what you want to cultivate in the year ahead—this year is all about staying calm, keeping strength, keeping joy, and balance.
Idea: Write down 1-3 intentions for the new year and keep them somewhere visible as a daily reminder.
3. Declutter Your Space and Mind
Hey siri, empty trash bin now.
Clear out anything that no longer serves you—whether it’s old yoga props, workout gear, or mental clutter like negative self-talk. Creating a calming space at home can help you feel more prepared for your practice and daily life. Let’s purge!
