Listen. The world is doing the absolute most right now, and if we’re not careful, we’ll be out here drained, stressed, and carrying weight that was never ours to hold. As Black women, we stay showing up, fixing things, holding space, and handling business—but at what cost?
It’s time to protect your peace like it’s your last good edge, sis. Here’s how:

1. Unplug & Unfollow (Yes, Even That One Page You “Hate-Watch”)
Social media will have you in a chokehold if you let it. Doomscrolling, debating in the comments, watching folks act a fool—it’s draining. Mute, block, unfollow, do what you gotta do. Your energy is precious, and not everyone deserves access to it.
2. Say “No” Without the Essay
“No” is a full sentence. You don’t need to over-explain, justify, or soften it. If it’s not feeding your spirit, protecting your joy, or paying you, it’s a no.
3. Prioritize Softness
Rest is resistance. Joy is resistance. You don’t have to earn rest, and you don’t need permission to take up space in your own peace. Go take that nap, book the massage, drink your tea, sit in silence—whatever keeps your spirit light.
4. Be With Your People
Get around folks who pour into you. The ones who make you laugh ‘til your stomach hurts, who remind you who you are when you forget, and who love you loudly. Community is medicine.
5. Move, Breathe, Release
Yoga, stretching, deep breaths, dancing in your living room—move that stress up out of your body. Don’t let the tension sit in your shoulders and hips. Shake it off, roll it out, let it go.
Sis, your peace is not up for negotiation. Protect it, guard it, and most importantly—live in it.
Stay Juicy!
